People forget years and remember moments, and love to capture small moments like this.
Walking around Yomjinda Road, Rayong
The most important and most beautiful road in the old town area, Yomjinda Road is a strip of quaint century-old houses. Some of them are refurbished into local museums, art galleries, and cafés.

My Walking Story :
I love traveling and the more I traveled, the more I learned about the world, and about myself.
So, today I am going to share my first-day visit to Rayong City, Thailand.
Firstly I would like to give you an overview of the city, Rayong city is on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand and is the capital of Rayong Province. The main industry is fishing over here, while it is also the center of the chemical and auto industries.
I started my trip on Saturday morning on the 8th feb20. Now the place Rayong takes around 3 hours of travel from Bangkok. The transportation which I have selected for traveling was a van, it’s cheap and affordable. Which costs around 150 baht (ticket cost) per person. Baht is the Thailand currency.
There was a lot of crowd at the station on the day I was traveling, as there was a holiday on Monday that is 10th Feb ’20.
I was excited about my trip so since morning I was out, in order to reach Rayong as early as possible. The earlier I reach, the more I can explore that place but I have to be in waiting for almost 3 to 4 hours for the van because of the rush. It was a bit frustrating for me at that point in hours but somehow need to be patient. During my waiting period, I interact with the local people over there, which is fun and good to spend time with. It helps to build the network as well.
Anyways after such a long waiting, I reached Pattaya around 5 pm in the evening as it was the first station because I didn’t get the direct van. For a direct van, it requires more waiting which will take my whole day, if I would have done that instead of changing the van at the station. Then from Pattaya, I changed my van for Rayong City.
I was out this morning at 12 pm and by tackling all the hustle, little traffic and reached my hotel at 7 pm in the evening. Mostly it doesn’t take this much longer to reach Rayong, as it hardly takes around 2 to 3 hours only to reach Rayong. Because of waiting and I do require some rest in between changing, it took longer to reach Rayong.
My hotel was already booked in advance, which was the best part of the day. The hotel’s name was Tamarind garden hotel. It was clean, tidy, and sophisticated. After that the first important work I did was to enquire about motorbikes on rent, I preferred to rent a motorbike during traveling as it makes it easier to explore the place and it’s fun also. The hotel staff helped me to rent a bike which cost around 350 baht per day. Which was fair enough for the day.
After the check-in and getting fresh and up, I asked for the local market location. There was one popular local market named “Yomjinda Road” you can say that it was the most important and beautiful road in the old town area.
Yomjinda Road is a strip of quaint century-old houses. Some of them are refurbished into local museums, art galleries, and cafés.
I loved the old town feel, relaxed pace, and quaint shops. Be sure to stop by one of the authentic noodle shops, tasty and affordable. It is worth seeing and walking around the market and the small street with the local culture.
I spent around 2 hours there. It was almost 10 pm and I thought of exploring the nightclub in the city. So I went to a bar where I had my dinner and some talks with the local people. I moved around the city after my dinner, so that I can feel the night vibes of the city. It was more than awesome I can say that. The city is full of lights and joy. I was back at my hotel by 12 at night. So this was my first day in Rayong City.
