Post-lunch, I ventured into Phuket Old Town, a district rich in history and culture. The streets are lined with Sino-Portuguese architecture, colorful buildings, and quaint cafés. Each corner tells a story, reflecting the island’s diverse heritage.
Sunday Night Market (Lard Yai) on Thalang Road
As the sun set, Thalang Road transformed into the bustling Sunday Night Market, locally known as Lard Yai. This market is a sensory delight, offering a plethora of local delicacies, handmade crafts, and live performances. The aroma of street food wafted through the air, tempting visitors to sample traditional Thai dishes.
The market operates every Sunday from 4 pm to 10 pm, making it a must-visit for weekend travelers.
Cultural Performances and Local Crafts
Beyond the culinary delights, the market showcases local artisans and performers. Traditional music and dance performances added to the vibrant atmosphere, providing a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of Phuket.
