Day 2 & 3 – Exploring Koh Chang Island by Motorbike : Thailand (Sep’20)
5-7th September 2020 / I spent 2 nights on Koh Chang Island. Koh Chang, part of the Mu Ko Chang National Park, is the largest and most popular of the islands in eastern Thailand.
Going to Koh Chang, Right now at the Pier in Trat
It is Thailand’s third-largest island but is nowhere near as developed or bustling as the two largest – Phuket and Samui. It is far less touristy and far less well-known. This means Koh Chang is definitely worth visiting if you want to avoid crowds. There are some great beaches, a good range of accommodations, and a wide choice of restaurants and bars.
Koh Chang, (‘Elephant Island’ in Thai) is part of the Mu Ko Chang National Park and is the largest and most popular of the islands in eastern Thailand. Whilst there are no truly wild elephants on Koh Chang Island the numerous elephant trekking operations mean that they are a common sight on the island. They live in a jungle environment and feed on jungle plants so they are part of the island’s wildlife ecosystem whether wild or domesticated.

Khlong Phlu Waterfall in Koh Chang
Klong Plu waterfall on the west coast of Koh Chang is a popular spot to spend a morning or afternoon. It is signposted from the main road and easily accessible. From the entrance, where foreign adults pay 200 baht and children 100 baht, it is a 600 meter walk along a shady riverside
