In July 2022, I embarked on a half-day excursion to Wat Arun, the iconic “Temple of Dawn,” situated along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Despite the sweltering heat, the temple’s intricate architecture and serene ambiance made the visit truly memorable.
Wat Arun Temple, Bangkok
Wat Arun, officially known as Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, is a prominent Buddhist temple located in the Bangkok Yai district. The temple’s name is derived from Aruṇa, the Hindu god representing the radiations of the rising sun. Its central prang, symbolizing Mount Meru from Hindu cosmology, is flanked by satellite prangs dedicated to Phra Phai, the wind god.

At Beirut Lebanese Restaurant in Ploenchit, Bangkok
One of my recommended and favorite restaurants.
After immersing myself in the spiritual and historical essence of Wat Arun, I sought respite from the heat and headed to Beirut Lebanese Restaurant in Ploenchit, Bangkok. This eatery is renowned for its fresh daily preparations and friendly atmosphere, offering a delectable array of Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes, including appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, vegetarian items, grilled meats, and traditional sweets.
