Morning at the Garden of Morning Calm
We began our day with an early morning visit to the Garden of Morning Calm, renowned for its meticulously curated landscapes and diverse plant species. The garden’s design emphasizes curves, spaces, and asymmetric balance, reflecting Korea’s unique beauty and cultural heritage.
Exploring the Garden
As we wandered through the garden’s various sections, we were captivated by the vibrant colors and intricate designs. Each area offered a distinct ambiance, from serene water features to lush floral displays, all set against the backdrop of the majestic Chungnyeongsan Mountain.
Cultural Significance
The name “Garden of Morning Calm” was inspired by Rabindranāth Tagore, an Indian poet who referred to Korea as “the Land of Morning Calm.”
This poetic tribute underscores the tranquil beauty that the garden embodies.
Afternoon Visit to Nami Island
After our morning exploration, we proceeded to Nami Island, another gem in the region, known for its tree-lined avenues and cultural significance.
