During my trip to Nakhon Nayok, I visited Wat Chulabhorn Wanaram Temple, a peaceful Buddhist temple surrounded by greenery. This visit gave me both a spiritual experience and a glimpse into Thai culture and traditions.

In July 2023, I embarked on a journey from Bangkok to Nakhon Nayok, a province renowned for its natural beauty and cultural landmarks. Departing Bangkok around 11 am, I hired a taxi for 1,200 THB to cover the approximately 110 km distance. Upon arrival in Nakhon Nayok City, I rented a motorbike for 250 THB per day to explore the area over the next two days.

There is no easy way to rent a motorbike in Nakhon Nayok, so please make arrangements in advance. There are no shops to rent. I found after lots of research one guy number. His name is Mr. Uan and his phone: 0814917662 He is a very busy man 🙂 and keep in touch with him until you reach Nakhon Nayok.

Nakhon Nayok City is the capital of Nakhon Nayok province in the central region of Thailand. The city covers Tambon Nakhon Nayok and parts of Tha Chang, Ban Yai, Wang Krachom, and Phrom Ni of Mueang Nakhon Nayok district. In 2006 it had a population of 17,385. It lies 116 km northeast of Bangkok

Wat Sothonwararam Worawihan

Our first stop was Wat Sothonwararam Worawihan, a temple with a rich history dating back to the late Ayutthaya period. Originally named Wat Hong, it is renowned for housing the revered Phra Phutthasothon Buddha image, a significant spiritual symbol for the local community.

Wat Sothonwararam is a temple in Chachoengsao Province, Thailand. Located in the Municipality of Mueang Chachoengsao alongside the Bang Pakong River, it was initially named ‘Wat Hong, ’ and was built in the late Ayutthaya period.

The temple’s architecture is a harmonious blend of Thai and Western styles, featuring a grand chapel with a soaring spire and intricate stained glass windows. The serene ambiance, coupled with the gentle flow of the nearby Bang Pakong River, creates a tranquil environment for reflection and meditation.
