Amphawa Floating Market
This particular place is known as Samut Songkhram which is near Bangkok only. From Bangkok, it takes around one and a half hours to reach over there by bus. The bus ticket was around 100 Thai baht. So I reached over there by afternoon. The main attraction over there was a floating market named “Amphawa Floating Market”.
Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart!
My Walking Story:
Today am going to narrate the story of my one-day trip to Walking in Amphawa Floating Market: Samut Songkhram, Thailand. I went on a trip from 18th Jan 20 to 19th Jan 20.
A floating market is a business where goods are sold from boats. Beginning in times and places where water transport played a significant role in daily life, most floating markets working today mainly serve as tourist attractions.
Amphawa Floating Market is a real floating market famous with the locals for weekend shopping. Thailand has a lot of such types of markets located in different cities. Amphawa Floating Market starts in the evening at 4 pm around and is closed by 12 at night.
After reaching over there I rent a motorbike and within 20 minutes of time, I reached the market by 4 pm. One can have a look at the photographs which I have clicked after visiting the market, near the pier of sunset and others.
As this is a small town so the main attraction over here is local shops, Thai food, coffee shops, bars, etc. Local people come over here for shopping and tourist can enjoy the boating facility available over there, for one hour and they charge 60 baht for that. Near the market, there were several good personal guest houses at the corner of the river but I stayed a bit away from the riverside in a farm stay named Baan Loylom Farm stay. I spent an hour in the market exploring all the stuff and had my lunch as well, then went back to my farm stay.
