Near to my hotel and amazed to see that silent street turned into a happening night market. There is only 1 nightlife street near Chinatown called “street 19”. You will see a couple of restaurants, a beer bar,s and street food in the very local environment. Cheap and tasty food. This market starts at 8 pm and goes on until midnight. Must visit, because there is no other option :). I recommend you to visit this street market if you are here. These pictures were taken there will show u some gimps of my first day in Yangon

Shwedagon Pagoda

Exploring The Shwedagon Pagoda , officially named Shwedagon Zedi Daw and also known as the Great Dagon Pagoda and the Golden Pagoda, is a gilded stupa located in Yangon, Myanmar was great experience to me. Shwedagon Pagoda is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, as it is believed to contain relics of the four previous Buddhas of the present kalpa. These relics include the staff of Kakusandha, the water filter of Koṇāgamana, a piece of the robe of Kassapa, it sits atop of a hill and is 99 meters high. It can be seen from most places of Yangon day and night as the golden roof illuminates the city.

Kandawgyi Lake is within walking distance of downtown (1.5km) and the Shwedagon Pagoda. Also known as Royal Lake, this artificial lake, built by the British as a reservoir, is most attractive at sunset, when the glittering Shwedagon Paya is reflected in its calm waters.

Bahadur Shah Zafar Tomb

Bahadur Shah Zafar grave dispute. The location of the grave of Bahadur Shah Zafar (or Mirza Abu Zafar Sirajuddin Muhammad Bahadur Shah Zafar), the last Mughal emperor, at Rangoon in Burma (now Yangon, Myanmar) is in dispute. He was buried at the back of his enclosure, but by 1903 the location of his grave was forgotten.

During this short trip i started with the Yangon. Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and commercial capital of Myanmar. Yangon served as the administrative capital of Myanmar until 2006, Yangon (formerly known as Rangoon) is no longer the capital of Myanmar, but it has experienced a huge increase in tourism recently. Nature lovers will appreciate the city’s stunning lakes, shady parks and verdant tropical trees. These are the reasons why it is dubbed ‘The Garden City of the East’. There are many places to visit among which the following places many draw their interest.

My Walking Story :

Today I am going to describe my Myanmar trio which is also known as Burma, it was on my travel list and there is a reason why I wanted to visit Myanmar as I always use to see in photographs a golden pointed structure at the corner of the mountain which was attractive for me and wanted to see it plus their culture and lifestyle. It was a three-night and four-day trip, first, we visit Yangon and I remember that my flight landed in Myanmar in the evening around 6 to 7 pm.

I was totally unaware of Myanmar‘s people living standards. I have no proper plans where to go, so I went to a hotel in-cab which I had already booked and reach the hotel around 7 in the evening. It was almost dark, and my hotel was in china town, which is near to the city center, this I was knowing. After getting fresh I came out of the hotel and I have no idea where to go.

I ask someone about marketplace location and went towards that side. I saw my surroundings was like a village environment, it was not clean, people moving here and there, cow dung was on the street, etc I observe this to the place where I was staying. People were going into a rickshaw, while I was walking to one kilometer still unable to find anything, I was surprised to see nothing and someone has told me that there is a nightlife over a specific place when I went to that street there was nothing. So, I went ahead and roam around in an auto-rickshaw near about 1 km, I enjoyed that ride. I stop again on the same street which is known as street’18.

This street gets converted into nightlife and all restaurant people or stalls people started putting tables, chairs on the street and that is the only street for nightlife that covers half kilometers of area. Till I reach the place, many people were already there and enjoying food along with a drink.

Finally, I went and ordered a few dishes along with local beer, it was awesome, and few vendors were selling by roaming around. It was happening place at the end and it was a joyful atmosphere, clicked several pictures one can check on my blog. the food was cheap, and I tried everything over there at night. While I stay in a hotel name Grand United 21st Downtown which was within walking distance from this street.

So, after done with dinner I went to sleep, the next morning I went down to have my breakfast which you can see the pictures of food and place on my blog. I can see the overall view of the city and breakfast was good. I haven’t taken any help from a tourist agent instead I hire a guide for a day, and he charges around 40 to 50 dollars, I agreed and ask him to show me the whole city. He was along with his wife and they were not good at English, but it can still work.

He took me to a place name Shwedagon Pagoda which was in Yangon and it was built amazingly famous among tourists plus local lights. it was just like the Golden temple and built in the mountain, while it was raining that day I remember. Further, exploring The Shwedagon Pagoda, officially named Shwedagon Zedi Daw and known as the Great Dagon Pagoda and the Golden Pagoda, which is a gilded stupa located in Yangon, Myanmar was a great experience to me. Shwedagon Pagoda is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, as it is believed to contain relics of the four previous Buddhas of the present Kalpa. These relics include the staff of Kakusandha, the water filter of Koṇāgamana, a piece of the robe of Kassapa, it sits atop a hill and is 99 meters high. It can be seen from most places of Yangon day and night as the golden roof illuminates the city. It was beautiful and the scene was lovely, I captured lots of photos.

We went in the evening to see this place and on the same day, I also went to the place called Kandawgyi Lake, which was located within the city only.

While I also went to a marketplace that was famous among tourists and the name of the market was Scott Market – Bogyoke Aung San Market. I roam around the market, tried local foods and there was a train over there and enjoyed the moment. The Scott Market Yangon is the former name of Bogyoke Aung San Market but it’s more familiar to tourists when they want to search to learn about it. As a major bazaar situated in Pabedan township in central Yangon.

Suddenly I saw Bahadur Shah Zafar Tomb. While Bahadur Shah Zafar grave dispute. The tomb was covered in silks including strewn with sweet-smelling petals, the memorial of India’s last Mughal emperor is a spot of pilgrimage for Indians. I search the location on the internet as local people have no idea about it, while after visiting over there, the concerned person explains the whole story related to Bahadur Shah Zafar and I had clicked the picture of it.

Next, I visited Yangon City for Sightseeing, wherein I explore 21st street, the marketplace, church, school side, along with local people and children. It was a happy day and feeling nice by making someone else feel happy. Moreover, during this short trip, I started with the Yangon. Nature lovers will appreciate the city’s stunning lakes, shady parks, and verdant tropical trees. These are the reasons why it is dubbed ‘The Garden City of the East. There are many places to visit among which the following places many draw their interest. I explore as many places as I can on a day and enjoyed it a lot. Hope you like it!
